La Tana dei Goblin: our website

The www.goblins.net website, implemented as an interactive portal, is the main communication media used by La Tana dei Goblin organization, today counting 15 affiliated associations in Italy. This website is the main aggregation point for a constantly growing italian gamers community, represented at this moment by8.297 registered users and 1.714 TdG associates, in the whole Italy and not only there.

Inside this website, 4.248 reviews (mainly in italian) are freely available and frequentely updated, with user comments and votes used to create an index called Goblin Score, in order to give everyone a chance to document and discover informations about games, as well as finding suggestions for buying games. Besides of this, a large download section is also available, counting 3.364 free gaming resources, like rules translations, player aids, FAQs, variants and more. Our discussion Forum area hosts 233.577 user posts, properly moderated and divided into categories in order to provide an easy way to exchange ideas, opinions, contacts and any other kind of informations. All services and content sections are accessible via a useful menu bar placed ontop of the window, listing the main categories grouping all the links you may need to browse the website. All our contents are shared and available according to the Creative Commons License (Attribution - NonCommercial - ShareAlike, v.2.5).

Even though all resources and informations are freely available to anyone, registered users can get even more informations and services, like submitting reviews, articles, web links, downlaods and so on. Registering to our website is free, and requires just few moments to compile the form and read our conditions, so... don't waste your time, go on!

Our contents are mainly in italian right now, but we would be happy to evaluate offers and collaborations in order to strengthen the english language side, too.

A NEW WORLD: call of duty!

A New World is a card-driven, area-control, area-movement game with elements of strategy and overall management of quite high complexity designed by Luca Cammisa e Luca Franceschetti.

While the project is entering the playtesting phase we are happy to introduce players to an overview of the main game aspects and dynamics.

The most important italian fair for comics and games, Lucca Comics & Games, has just ended, so after the necessary reordering of material and ideas, here we are to fill a report full of numbers and thanks. We have had the opportunity to run the "Ludoteca" (a.k.a. Play Area) a section of the free gaming area where we volunteered to lend and explain games to the fair attendees.

La Tana dei Goblin Pisa takes back the record trophy for the Wings of War match with most players: 81

On the bygone Feb 21, 2007 La TdG Pisa set a record that held out for almost one year. On Sunday Jun 14, 2009 La TdG Pisa retooks the title in a sunny afternoon of June, when 81 warlike pilots challenged one another in what will be dubbed as the most crowded match of Wings of War ever played till now.

Using and sharing our site contents

As you sure know, anything published on internet websites is usually intended as a common and free resource, excluding commercial websites wich is not the case for La Tana dei Goblin. So, it's natural and obvious that, in the spirit of internet free cooperation and sharing, resources published on a specific website may also be available at other websites, as links, copies or even derivative works. In these situations the simple "netiquette" rules (a sort of good education code for network users) state that source websites and authors for such external contents should always be clearly referred, even though unfortunately this does not happens in every case.

In order to grant the free circulation of anything published at La Tana dei Goblin, at the same time protecting our Association and our authors contributing with their works, we decided to use a well known international license with precise rules about sharing and distribution of internet contents. It's the Creative Commons license, a sort of common code enabling several forms of agreement depending on the level of sharing and protecion needed.

eccoci giunti con questa carrelata a ritroso dei miei articoli usciti per www.boardgamenews.com quasi alle origini ... ecco infatti la mia seconda intervista, a Roberto di Meglio, CEO di Nexus Games non che autore del pluripremiato "La Guerra dell'Anello" ... ad intervistarlo adesso, subito dopo Norimberga, ne avrebbe delle belle da raccontare, come potete vedere dal succulento elenco delle prossime uciete Nexugames ... anche la nascita di GiochiUniti, di cui Nexus e' parte integrante, meriterebbe piu' spazio ... ma vi lascio alle parole di Roberto di allora ...

Ciao giocatori proseguo con questo viaggio nel passato al recupero delle mie interviste per www.boardgamenews.con. Ecco qua la storica intervista di Andrea Angiolino in cui, con grande genorosita', il padre di Wing of War ci parla della sua prolifica e varia ttivita' nel campo dei giochi: libri, giochi, fanzine. Le novita' di interesse maggiore sono ovviamente quelle legate a Wings of War ma Andrea ha davvero in cantieri un sacco di roba. e' comunque un'intervista troppo ricca e variegata per essere sintetizzata ... quindi buona lettura (anche se, purtroppo, come al solito e' tutta in inglese!)

Ciao a tutti i giocatori ecco un'altra intervista di Cosa Bolle in Pentola. E' la volta di Emiliano "Bang" Sciarra, probabilmente uno degli autori Italiani piu' noti all'estero e sicuramente uno di quelli, con Bang! e le sue espansioni, dei piu' apprezzati. Nel corso dell'intervista Emiliano racconta un po' del suo lavoro e del suo passato e ci rivela il suo desiderio di diventare autore di giochi a tempo pieno. Dice che nel suo portatile (speriamo non lo perda!) ci sono piu' di 30 giochi in attesa e annuncia nuove espansioni di Bang! ma anche altro ... La sua lista di giochi preferiti e' abbastanza anomala ... Scacchi e Boggle sopra tutti ... in generale giochi non troppo complessi ma che richiedono una buona dose di strategia! Purtroppo anche di questa intervista, comparsa su www.boardgamenews.com possiedo solo la versione in inglese ...

Ciao a tutti eccomi giunto al #9 della mia serie Cosa Bolle in Pentola che anima e rallegra i venerdi' di www.boardgamenews.com ... come promesso tutte le nuove uscite del venerdi' appariranno in contemporanea anche qua sulla Tana dei Goblin, quando possibile in Italiano. In questa intervista (in inglese) Leo ci racconta della sua vita, del suo incontro con Alex Randolph e di come abbia cambiato la sua vita. Ci parla dei suoi nuovi giochi , Mauerbauer e un seguito di Cartagena. Ma soprattutto ci parla dei progetti di Studiogiochi e di Venice-Connetction ... davvero delle novita' molto interessante che postero' come notizie a se stanti nei prossimi giorni. FFG: Britannia 2 to the print!

FFG is sending the Brit 2 production work to the printer this Friday (probably today when you receive this). The pieces are square with rounded corners, probably larger than the old pieces, but I cannot tell for sure. The most noticeable change is the inclusion of a very large number of victory point markers.
