This is a tabletop game for 3-4 players.
What they do is talk to one another, coming up with descriptions of an imaginary world, filled with imaginary characters. They will describe places, people, events, and make it all interact.
They will do so with the help and guidance of the game procedures, which will allow them to do so with relative ease and coherence.
In practical terms, three to four friends will sit around a table, they will read the game rules (printed on a couple of cards) and the available Fetishes (the character archetypes, one card each) and then select one Fetish each to be the protagonist of their own personal story.
The game asks a few questions to the players in order to set a few basic elements. Once these are answered, the game begins.
In turn, one player takes the role of the Seeker, meaning that she gets to describes the actions and thoughts of her Fetish character.
At the same time the others take the role of Eyes, describing the places and people surrounding the Seeker.
This is all organized in scenes, like in a movie; at the end of each scene the Seeker role moves around the table, so that in turn the players will see a glimpse of each character story, and move it forward.
The rules influence such descriptions in a way that stirs events towards interesting, dramatic, adventurous situations.
In critical moments rules are used to tell the players the outcome of important actions. No dice or numbers are involved.
Will I reach the house in time?
Will I convince the cop to let me go?
Will I steal the statuette without no one noticing?
On top of these, other rules allow the Seeker to state that some specific action their imagined character is performing indeed has Ritual meaning.
This will trigger specific questions answered by the Eyes and, based on those, a final choice for the Seeker to make.
After a Fetish performs successfully 3 ritual actions, her story ends and a final "transcendence" scene is narrated. When all players have gone through their Fetish transcendence, the game ends.
This usually takes 3 to 6 hours, depending on how the group plays.
I hope this was useful to answer your doubts.
And as I said, I'm here if you have further questions :)
