An ancient Japanese strategy game, which has similar roots to chess and a history stretching back 1400 years.
In Mikado the players control pieces representing The Emperor, Princes, Lords, Samurai, Generals, Warriors, Spearmen and Scholars.
The object of the game, like chess is to capture the opposing Emperor. But here is where the resemblance ends.
Any pieces captured from your opponent become your own and maybe placed anywhere you wish on the board.
An intriguing game that offers many strategic possibilities and an endless variety of moves.
