It already feels like the start of a great day on the Island of Toys! As you stand in the park, you smell the scent of toasted sugar, hear the laughter coming from the puppet theater, and gaze up at the colorful kites soaring across the sky. You listen to the music of the merry-go-round and long to ride it. There’s only one problem: you don’t have any tickets. Only the most famous children have them. If you were famous, you could use your reputation to gain tickets! All you need to do is convince the other children of the great adventures you’ve had with the different Characters on the Island, even if a bit of embellishment is required… after all, who will be able to tell the difference? Trust Me is a bluffing game. Players have one day and one night to grow their reputation and gain Tickets by gaining the trust of their opponents or by tricking them. The player with the most valuable Tickets at the end of the game wins. On your turn, you must do both of the following steps in order: Draw 1 Character from the Character deck and place it into your hand. Perform one of the following three actions: Tell a Tale Use Reputation to Gain a Ticket Take a Character from the Park To tell a tale, place 1 Character from your hand face-down below any Character in the Park (speaking is optional). You are telling a true tale if the Characters match. You are bluffing and telling a tall tale if the Characters do not match. Honest players who are not trusted will get both cards and play a second round while bluffing players who are trusted will get both cards and a precious ticket, but if you’re caught lying, you get nothing! Cards gained during your turn go into your reputation, which can be discarded to redeem more tickets. As the game progresses your reputation will get bigger, and bluffing will get much more tricky! At the end of the game, the player with the most points is the coolest kid in the group! —description from the publisher
